Obama and racist supporters
With ALL due respect to Obama and all views regarding an African American president, an interesting question to also explore is why there has not been a Native American President?
Or, really, why we aren't making a fuss over the fact that there hasn't been a Native American candidate, in the same way that we consider an African American or female candidate to be ground-breaking?
Maybe it's for the same reasons that I have heard on many occasions, Obama supporters making fun of Asian people, Mexicans, and other ethnic groups sometimes within the same hour as spewing support for an African American president?
You can't have it both ways, folks. You have to OWN it in order to truly dismantle it.
This is EXACTLY the same conduct as when our founding fathers decided to make a "free" land, yet excluded blacks from that freedom.
It's ok to have an African American or female president, but we're still going to choose to forget about or make fun of X group of people?
BE HONEST.
You're either a bandwagon jumper with some underlying prejudices, or you support all fellow human beings as equal WITHOUT QUESTION.
Compassion is not a trend. It is not a tool to placate the masses or make them forget about economic disaster. It is not something that can make you "liberal" or "artsy".
And Obama is not the end of it all. He's only the tip of the iceberg.
You just have to be willing to acknowledge the mountain that lies under the water, out of view.

perhaps this is Double Standard racism, like when Caucasian people are questioned by police after being spotted in a predominantly African American neighborhood?
hey, how ya doin' Joy? you still back East?

Perhaps. But I think it's more that people are jumping on the "hipster" bandwagon. I remember this episode of Will and Grace where they were arguing over which candidate was the more "liberal" one, (I think it was a woman, who ended up being a anti-Semite, and a gay guy that was republican? Don't remember the details.) In the end, they were both upset because they missed voting for "the black guy"...
Is this Robin from Playa Del Fuego?
If so, are you still collecting our winged friends?
